We **MIGHT** Have a MAJOR Problem - Subscribers Only

SUBSCRIBERS ONLY -- As all of you know, this web site has been under very strong attack by hackers for quite some time.   I alerted all of you to the situations when they were taking place, and my computer guys did a remarkable job fixing what they KNEW was broken. But I found out tonight, after my show, that there **MAY** be something the hackers broke that we DID NOT know about, and it **COULD** be a disaster. 

After my Wednesday show, I went in to look at my emails as I always do. 

I got five emails from a subscriber saying his Paypal account has been billed FOUR times in one month.   Theoretically, that can't happen.  It did.

When I went in to look at his account on MY server, everything was fine.  Looked perfectly normal.

When I looked at his subscription in Paypal, it too was normal.  But the number of actual payments billed under that subscription was NOT NORMAL.

He was, in fact, billed four times for his subscription last month (June).

I don't know how that happened.  I have no way of directing Paypal to pay me more than a person has authorized.  The software simply does not provide a way to do that for obvious reasons.

I refunded his over-payments. 

Then I got another email from another subscriber, telling me he had paid twice in one month.  I thought, "Oh my God, how many more people has this happened to?"

This could be a death sentence for me.  If I've been getting paid more money than I should, and it was just barely enough to pay the bills, what happens if I have to refund a whole slew of duplicate payments?   Yea.  Potentially big financial trouble.  But only POTENTIALLY.  This may not be widespread.

 

So, I am asking each of you to go into YOUR Paypal account, click on your SUBSCRIPTIONS and take a look at whether or not YOU have been affected by this.   If there have been multiple payments in one or more months, I need you to let me know via my PERSONAL email which is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

 PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ONLY CONTACT ME IF THE PAYMENTS ARE WRONG.   IF EVERYTHING IS O.K. I DO NOT NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU.  OTHERWISE i WILL GET SO SWAMPED WITH EMAILS, I WON'T BE ABLE TO GET THRU ALL OF THEM.

 

Whatever happened to cause this, happened recently.  The attacks against this site got so bad, I had to implement the Proxy/VPN ban to fend-off the thousands of robotic attacks per day.  Clearly, damage was done.  Now I have to figure out if that damage included the payment system.

My site does NOT ever contain any of your banking or credit card info.  Not even for a micro-second. 

ALL of that data goes DIRECTLY through either Paypal or Stripe and is NEVER stored anywhere in my systemSo no one can ever hack my system and get YOUR financial info because your financial info is not ever stored on my system.

Thank God for small miracles!

But if I have gotten more money than I should have, I have to give it back and I will.  It will just be a LOT faster if all of you help with this rather than wait for me to go through all the subscribers trying to figure it out.  

I think being up-front and honest is the best course of action with something like this and here I am at 2:57 AM -- just hours after finding out there **MAY** be a problem, telling all of you.

We will get through this, together.  

 

NEW:  For those of you who want to switch AWAY from Paypal - which is probably a good idea, you can tell me to DELETE your existing account, which will allow you to sign back up and select STRIPE as the Payment method instead of Paypal.  There are benefits to that for you: Paypal (a very politically-correct company) would then be out of the loop in our relationship, AND, with STRIPE, you can use literally ANY major credit card from ANY Country!  And, you'd have all the traditional protections that all consumers have with credit card use . . . much more protection than Paypal.

MORE . . . . If you would rather subscribe ANNUALLY instead of monthly, I can now generate an Invoice via STRIPE, if you register with them and set up an account (the same way you would with Paypal).  This would make the monthly billing and renewals a thing of the past.  No more getting locked out of the account because the  system thinks it expired.  You'd be good for a whole year. 

Of course, you would be able to cancel at any time and get a refund of the unused subscription as well.  All in all, this might be a much more convenient option for many of you.   You can sign-up with STRIPE at https://stripe.com/   and click the START NOW button.

If you want an ANNUAL Invoice, just email me at my personal email address above and tell me to send the invoice.  It will come to your email box and you can pay it from there through STRIPE and their secure servers.

UPDATE 6:24 PM EDT --

No other subscriber has reported to have had the troubles outlined above so far.    That's NO ONE ELSE.  So this is good.

 

UPDATE 6:45 AM EDT, FRIDAY, JULY 3 --

Still no other cases of multiple charges for single subscription.  Only the two cited above in the original posting.  Clearly, this is NOT a widespread problem at all.
